NISEI WEEK POP UP / JAPANESE AMERICAN NATIONAL MUSEUM

Nisei Week 2014 Art Show

This weekend marks the beginning of the 74th NISEI WEEK FESTIVAL (technically its 80th year), which celebrates Japanese and Japanese-American culture and achievement. The festival will take place in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles on 1st and 2nd streets with various events scheduled for the next few weeks. Please check the Nisei Week website for details @ http://www.niseiweek.org/

On Saturday and Sunday, Aug 9-10th, Sean Danconia will be on hand at the JAPANESE AMERICAN NATIONAL MUSEUM / TANABATA FESTIVAL for the art release and signing of the official Nisei Week poster for 2014 featuring Aki the Akita, Mayumi-chan and many landmarks from both Little Tokyo and Japan. Art signing and Pop-Up Art exhibit will run from 11-3pm on both days, located at the Nisei Week booth.

On Sunday Aug. 10th, Sean will be in the parade (led by parade Marshall Hello Kitty!) with Mayumi-chan wearing a beautiful kimono designed by Kimono-stylist Sueko Oshimoto (The Wolverine, etc.) of SUEHIRO Kimono. All the events are free plus lots of great Japanese food/activities/performances, etc.

Hope to see you all there!
